It is well known that tattoo is a luxury item that folks reward themselves with when there is extra money left over after bills and necessities. so if most of you are feeling the pinch of this tight economy, so are tattoo artists. I (BOB), myself have witness many of my clients cutting back or spacing out their sessions due to the decline. We are implementing many specials and price cuts to conform to our client's needs. Many shops have adapted the same strategies in order to "stay busy" as a same results. Some artists and shops however, have not, in fear of self "undercutting". My response to that is, "Get the fuck off your high horse and give people a fucking break already!!!". I mean, Jesus, it is bad everywhere and why should our clients suffer while your still trying to live it up. I know i have to work even harder to maintain re pore and appreciation with my clients, and if it means lowering my rates or throwing in a couple hours free for a long session to stay busy, then why not!? I rather stay busy tattooing at a modest price rate than to sit around waiting for the "big score".
Some of our clients have to dig deep just to get a tattoo by us and we appreciate that! We are after all just a couple of lucky MFs that happens to do what we love as a job.
